CottageClub is spotlighting our commitment to sustainable building with a new development of cottages built from re-purposed shipping containers which would otherwise go to waste.
 
 
These innovative cottages, developed by Lamont Land and dubbed Sea-Cans, will be launched June 14-16 and June 21-23 in part of our overall dedication to providing green opportunities. In addition to geothermal and photovoltaic system technology, everyone who buys a lot at CottageClub receives ten hours with SAIT’s Green Building Technologies department to help guide them through more sustainable options, including how to achieve net zero energy construction.
 
Not only are these cottages sustainable, but they are durable – capable of lasting several hundred years. The Sea-Cans are shipped from Vancouver and prefabricated by Blocks Container Structures—one of CottageClub’s nine recommended builders. They are highly efficient, come in a variety of floor plans and are available for prices averaging between $200 and $250 per square foot.
 
For wood-frame cottages, residents typically spend in the high-$200,000s to low-$300,000s; however, cottage prices are linked to their size and there isn’t a minimum requirement at CottageClub. The recently-released Phase 4 offers the most affordable lots in the development, starting from $109,900 plus GST. There also isn’t a minimum timeframe for when a cottage needs to be built after a lot is purchased, so buyers can take their time or choose from our excellent selection of quick possession opportunities.
 
Cottage buyers will have immediate access to the community and its amenities. This includes the 11,000-square-foot Residents’ Recreation Centre, featuring an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, games room, library, community kitchen, outdoor hot tub, pizza oven, barbeque, plus pickleball and tennis courts.
